Throughout my entire undergrad I have survived by basic memorization and regurgitation. This didn’t translate to retention or application of information. Dr. Vizniak is the only professor that I have encountered that was so invested in constantly remodeling and updating his teachings to ensure his students were getting the best possible learning experience. His investment in his students is unparalleled. His styling of teaching was unlike any I had ever seen before and I wish he could teach others to teach the way that he does. He makes learning easy, fun and engaging, but above all he inspired me to want to change the way I study outside of class. This was honestly the first time I didn’t just have just have the material memorized, but I understood it and can apply it to real life. This is what I have striven for for a long time. It was an honor to learn from you. Thank you.

Hi Dr. Nik, I just wanted to say that some of our phys med classes this term have been so powerful. Your ability to humanize conditions and convey the true meaning of “patient centered care” has been potent on a deep level. I was talking to a counseling professor one day after school and voiced that we often learn slide after slide of condition after condition in so many classes and that there is rarely space to think about the person behind the condition because we are too busy learning the “history, signs and symptoms” etc. Not to say that that isn’t important….it is vital….but having a deeper understanding and empathy is often lacking across the board. You teachings give me a lot of hope that there will be doctors out there that “get it” and can better relate, understand and ultimately help their patients. – Dr. Krystal R.
“Dr. Vizniak makes me want to learn and become the best clinician I can be.”
“Dr. Nik understands how much information students can retain from each class and respects it – he is always prepared and entertaining”
“I look forward to every class because I learn so much from it”
Nikita Vizniak Physical Assessment
“I recently arrived at the physical medicine chapter in board exam study manual and begrudgingly (only due to the fact that it is by far the largest chapter) began to study it. But then, as I made my through it, I realized it was the quickest and easiest chapter of all…barely having to highlight or make notes on a single topic. I know this stuff cold…and that’s because of You! Your passion and abilities as a teacher are truly gifts to us all…as students, doctors and the patients we treat – Thanks for being an amazing teacher!” – Dr. Gerann M. New Westminster, Canada
“Dr. Nik uses fun role-play scenarios – “Is there a doctor in the house – loved the “difficult patient” scenarios and an emphasis on clinically relevant practical information”
“Dr. Nik offers immediate feedback, SAFE environment for learning (ok to make mistakes) made things humerus (pun intended) – Very friendly and approachable – always answers questions extremely well.”
“Dr. Nik is by far the best instructor I’ve ever had. He was animated, engaging, and always made sure the class was hands on – his passion is contagious and the fun environment that makes it easy to learn”
“Dr. Nik – you have a very keen ability to gauge personalities and traits of your students and you teach uniquely to address ad facilitate personal needs”
“Dr Nik is very knowledge, such a sweetheart, understanding, and is one of those people who inspire you to become a better student and brings out the best in you”
“Thank you for making the classroom a safe place to make mistakes – practical exams and being put on the spot was challenging – but when it came time for board exams it made the process so much easier – I feel much more ready for practice, Thank you!” – Dr. Aubrey S.
“Dr. Nik! Last night the fire alarm went off. [We] rushed outside with a few belongings. Thankfully the fire was contained to the underground parking but we realized where our priorities lay. When there’s a fire, you grab what’s most important.”
